Is Being Rich Bad

Why do some believe it is bad to be rich and others do not? First of all it is a matter of perspective, what is rich? Materially speaking most Americans, when compared to the world, are rich. Most make more in a month than many make in a year. But most do not have the abundance that is commonly referred to as being rich. Most of these think that money is the answer to being happy, successful and content.

Others think that money is the root of all evil and to pursue it bad or a sin. Neither one is the truth.Money is nothing but a form of exchange or a way to measure the ability to buy things.

The way it is perceived and used is the key. The bible says the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. When someone loves money more than God, more than their reputation, more than anything then that is wrong. Just read the newspapers and you will see examples of this behavior. People who are willing to loose everything for the chance to be rich are revealed almost everyday. Their pursuit is both wrong and futile.

Jesus taught to gain the whole earth and lose your soul was fruitless and foolish. To put your trust in money would make it easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for you to enter the kingdom of heaven. The kingdom of heaven is not the salvation freely given by God through Jesus, but the reign of Jesus on this earth for one thousand years.

Being rich than can be bad.Money when used properly can feed the poor, house the homeless, educate the illiterate, build hospitals, and meet the material needs of the world. Socialism is not what is needed, but to make it possible for the standard of living to be raised, so they can contribute to the world. Being rich then can and should be the desire of everyone.

Not to have more "things" but to be able to help others. What would you like to do for others if you were rich? If money was not a problem what would you do? Would you spend it on yourself or would you seek God's will in how to spend it? What your desires are will affect your ability to become rich. If you desire to become rich to do good things for God he will bless you.

But if you want to consume riches on your own lusts you will suffer loss. You should use your talents and abilities God has given you to become insanely rich and then give it away. As you do so you are laying up treasure in heaven. These heavenly riches will last forever.

They will be with you for the eternity that waits for you. These are true riches. You do not have to be insanely rich to serve and please God. You can serve him with what you have.

God is not interested in your money but your spirit. What is the priority of your life? It should be to bring glory to God in all that you do or hope to do.Jesus said to seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. So be obedient and follow his instructions. When the blessings begin to flow use them for his glory through good works.
